let the two triangles be ABC and EFG

let the two sides which are in ratio be AB:EF=2:3

"If two triangles are similar, then the ratio of the area of both triangles is proportional to the square of the ratio of their corresponding sides."

therefore, AB/EF= 2/3

(AB/EF)²= (triangle ABC/ triangle EFG)

(2/3)²= (triangle ABC/ triangle EFG)

4/9= (triangle ABC/ triangle EFG)

therefore, the two triangles are in the ratio 4:9

hope it helps you
