simple \: interest = p  \times r \times t \div 100 \\ 235.20 = p \times 14 \times 3 \div 100 \\ 235.20 = 21p \div 50 \\ by \: cross \: multiplication \\ 235.20 \times 50 = 21p \\ 11760 = 21p \\ threfore \:   \\ p = 11760 \div 21 = 560 \\  \\ so \: the \: sum \: is \: rs560

Hello............ ^_^

Here is your answer...

Given :-
Rate of interest = 14%per annum
Time = 3 years
Simple Interest (S.I) = Rs. 235.20

Let Principal (P) = 'P'

S.I =  \frac{P \times R \times T}{100}  \\  \\  =  > 235.20 =  \frac{P \times 14 \times 3}{100}  \\  \\ (14 \times 3 = 42) \\  \\  =  > 235.20 =  \frac{42 \: P}{100}  \\  \\  =  > 235.20 \times 100 = 42 \: P \\  \\  =  > 23520 = 42 \: P \\  \\  =  >  \frac{23520}{42}  = P \\  \\  =  > 560 = P
Hence, Principal (P) = Rs.560

CHECK
S.I =  \frac{P \times R \times T}{100}  \\  \\   S.I =  \frac{560 \times 14 \times 3}{100}  \\  \\  (560 \times 14 \times 3 = 23520) \\  \\ S.I =  \frac{23520}{100}  \\  \\ S.I = 235.20

Hope it helps............ ^_^
