Question :The simple interest on Rs 600 at 5% pa for 2 year is Rs

Answer: ₹60

Solution:

S.I.=\frac{P\times R\times T}{100}

Where

S.I.=Simple Interest (In ₹)

P=Principal Amount (In ₹)

R=Rate (Per Annum)

T=Time (In years)

According to Question

→S.I.=  \frac{600\times5\times2}{100}

→S.I.=₹60

Amount =P+SI

Amount =P+SI

Evaluate P(principal =₹600),SI(simple interest =₹60)

Amount =600+60

Amount =₹660

How to calculate SI

To calculate the SI for a certain amount of money (P), rate of interest (R) and time (T), the formula is:

SI = \frac{P\times R\times T}{100}

Here,

SI = Simple interest

P = Principal (sum of money borrowed)

R = Rate of interest p.a

T = Time (in years)
