Given :-

P_1 = ₹3500

P_2 = ₹2500

Rate = 10%

Interest on ₹3500 = 400 + Interest on ₹2500

To Find :-

The time period

Solution :-

When principal is 2500 :-

SI\: =\: {\dfrac{P \times R \times T}{100}}

On inserting the values in the formula

We get ,

SI\: =\: {\dfrac{2500 \times 10 \times T}{100}}

= 250t

When principal is 3500 :-

SI\: =\: {\dfrac{P \times R \times T}{100}}

On inserting the values in the formula

We get ,

SI\: =\: {\dfrac{3500 \times 10 \times T}{100}}

= 350t

According to question,

SI for ₹3500 principal = 400 + 250t

=> 350t = 400 + 250t

=> 350t - 250t = 400

=> 100t = 400

=>\: t\: =\: {\dfrac{400}{100}}

=> t = 4

Therefore, total time period was 4 years.
