Explanation:

3x + 5y = 16 ....(i)

4x - y = 6 ...(ii)

Multiply (ii) with '5'

3x + 5y = 16

20x - 5y = 30

Adding both: 23x = 46

x = 46/23 = 2

Substitute this 'x' value in any equation.

'x' in (ii)== 4*2 - y = 6

8 - y = 6

y = 2

Hence x = y =2

\huge\bold\purple{ solution }

3x + 5y = 16 \\ 4x - y = 6

\huge\bold\red{ ♡answer }

3x + 5y = 16 -  - (i) \\ \\  4x - y = 6 -  - (ii)

equation (ii)×5

3x + 5y = 16 \\ 20x - 5y = 30

______________________

23x = 46 \\  \\ x =  \frac{46}{23} \\ x = 2

X= 2 put in equation (I)

4x - y  = 6 \\  \\ 4 \times 2 - y = 6 \\  \\ 8 - y = 6 \\  \\  - y =  - 2 \\ y = 2

hence X= 2 and y=2
