Solution :-

Let us assume that, Marked price is Rs. 10 .

So,

→ MP = Rs.10

→ Discount 1 = 15% of 10 = (15 * 10)/100 = Rs.1.5

then,

→ SP = 10 - 1.5 = Rs. 8.5

again,

→ MP = Rs.10

→ Discount 2 = 10% of 10 = (10 * 10)/100 = Rs.1

then,

→ SP = 10 - 1 = Rs. 9

again,

→ MP = Rs.10

→ Discount 3 = 8% of 10 = (8 * 10)/100 = Rs.0.8

then,

→ SP = 10 - 0.8 = Rs. 9.2

then,

→ Total MP = 10 * 10 * 10 = Rs. 1000

→ Total SP = 8.5 * 9 * 9.2 = Rs. 703.8

therefore,

→ Total discount = 1000 - 703.8 = Rs. 296.2

hence,

→ Single discount = (296.2 * 100)/1000 = 29.62% (Ans.)

Given : discount series 15 % 10% and 8%

To Find :  single discount

Solution:

Let say Amount before discount = 1000X

15 % discount = (15/100) 1000X = 150X

Amount after 1st discount = 1000X - 150X  = 850X

10% discount == (10/100) 850X = 85X

Amount after 2nd discount = 850X - 85X  = 765X

8% discount = (8/100) 765X = 61.2X

Final Amount = 765X - 61.2X

= 703.8X

Net discount = 1000X  = 703.8X

= 296.2X

Single Discount = (296.2X/1000X) * 100

= 29.62 %
