Given : A.P , 2,4,6,8

To Find :  sixth term

Solution:

AP = Arithmetic progression

Has constant (common  ) difference in consecutive term

is of form

a ,  a + d  , a  + 2d ...........................

a = first Term

d = common difference

nth term  = a + (n-1) d

Given AP is

2 , 4 , 6 , 8

a = 2

d = 4 - 2  = 2

6th term  = a + (6-1) d

a = 2 , d  = 2

= 2 + 5(2)

= 2  + 10

= 12
