The size of a carbon block is 1.0cm*1.0cm*50cm. Find its maximum and minimum resistance if the resistivity of carbon is 3.5*10^-5 ohm cm.

Resistance = Resistivity * Length of conductor / Cross sectional area
R = p*l/A
When l = 50 cm and A = 1*1 = 1 sq cm
R = p*50
When l = 1 cm and A = 50*1 = 50 sq cm
R = p/50
Therefore, max. resistance = p*50 and min resistance = p/50 where p= 3.5*10^5
