Given :- The slant height of a cone is 20 centimetres and it makes an angle 30 degree with its radius .

To Find :- a) What is its radius ?

b) Compute its curved surface area ?

Solution :-

Let us assume that, radius of the cone is r cm.

so,

→ cos 30° = radius / slant height

→ (√3/2) = r / 20

→ 2r = 20√3

→ r = 10√3 cm (Ans.a)

then,

→ CSA of cone = π * radius * slant height = 3.14 * 10√3 * 20 = 31.4 * 1.73 * 20 = 1086.44 cm² (Ans.b)
