The slope-intercept form of the equation of a line that passes through point (–2, –13) is y = 5x – 3. What is the point-slope form of the equation for this line?

y – 13 = 5(x – 2)
y + 13 = 5(x + 2)
y – 2 = 5(x – 13)
y + 2 = 5(x + 13)

From the given information we can see that the slope the line is m = 5

(x1, y1) = (-2,-13)

y-y1 = m(x-x1)

y-(-2)=5(x-(-13))

y+2=5(x+13) is the correct answer.
