Given equation of a line:

3x-By+7 = 0

Compare this with ax+by+c=0,we get

a=3 , b = -B , c = 7

i) slope of a line (m1) = -a/b

= 3/(-B)

ii) It is given that ,

slope of a line parallel to above

line (m2) = -3

But ,

m1 = m2

=> 3/(-B) = -3

=> 3/(-3) = -B

=> -1 = - B

=> B = 1

Therefore,

B = 1
