Answer: k=10

The given points of a line are P(6,k) and Q(1,-3K).

Therefore,the slope of line PQ m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

=\frac{-3k-k}{1-6}= \frac{-4k}{-5}= \frac{4k}{5}

as given slope of PQ =1/2

Therefore,

\frac{4k}{5}=\frac{1}{2}\\ \Rightarrow\ 4k=\frac{5}{2} .........\text{(multiplying 5 on both sides)}\\\Rightarrow\ k=10 .........\text{(dividing 4 from both sides)}

This will give the points P=(6,k)=(6,10) and Q(1,-3k)=(1,-30)
