Hence, herbivores who eat grass/green leafy vegetables need a longer small intestine to allow complete digestion of cellulose. Carnivores animals cannot digest cellulose, hence, they have a shorter intestine.

Actually the deer is herbivorous due to this he eats grass which contains cellulose. To digest the cellulose they need long intestine as compare to lion which is a carnivorous.
