let numbers be x is greatest number and y is smallest number
the smallest of two numbers is two-thirds of the greater
so, y = (2x/3)
sum is 120
x + y = 120
x + (2x/3) = 120
3x + 2x = 120*3
5x = 360
x = 360/5
x = 72
so, the greatest number is x = 72 and smallest number is 2x/3 = 2*72/3 = 48
