Hi there!,

Composite numbers are numbers which have more than 2 factors.
The smallest composite number is 4 which has 1, 2, 4 as its factors. It is the smallest because, 1 is neither prime nor composite; 2 and 3 are prime numbers because they have only 2 factors, 1 and the number itself.
