Mean of three consecutive numbers is 33

The correct answer is option (a) 33

Given:

The smallest of three consecutive integers is 32

To find:

The mean of the three integers

Solution:

Let x, x+1 and x+2 be the three consecutive integers

Here x is will be the smallest integer

From given data the smallest of three consecutive integers is 32

Therefore, x = 32

And next 2 consecutive integers are

x + 1 = 32 + 1 = 33

x + 2 = 32 + 2 = 34

The three consecutive numbers are 32, 33 and 34

Mean of three consecutive numbers = sum of integers/ 3

= (32 + 33 + 34)/3 = 99/3 = 33

Mean of three consecutive numbers = 33

The correct answer is option (a) 33
