“The sniper looked at his enemy falling and he shuddered. The lust of battle died in him. He became bitten by remorse (guilt or regret). The sweat stood out in beads on his forehead. Weakened by his wound and the long summer day of fasting and watching on the roof, he revolted from the sight of the shattered mass of his dead enemy. His teeth chattered, he began to gibber to himself, cursing the war, cursing himself, cursing everybody.”

What is the main idea of this paragraph? The main idea is the central message of a passage.

The main idea is, “he becomes human again”.  The war had made him to be cold and calculative person but the death of the man, his brother, makes his lust for war die. The feeling of remorse could have been temporary had he not seen the man he had killed.  After seeing his brother, whom he had killed, he would never touch the gun again.

the man who had a lust for war.... began to hate the war and had a guilt for killing his enemy. he started cursing himself., war and everybody. the central message of this paragraph us that war is not always thr right solution for every problem... a person must not be the enemy of other person. we all should live in harmony with each other as humans.
