Answer:
1) It tells us that the soldier was longing to go home as he was dreaming that he went home and was with his children and wife, for many days!
2) It captures a battle-traumatized soldiers was-weariness and longing for home. Although the vision fulfill the soldiers wish for a reunion with his family during his sleep, it also turns out to be an illusion: he wakes up and returns to the harsh reality of war.
3) As it is mentioned in the last stanza :
" 'Stay-stay with us! - rest! - thou art weary and worth!' - And fain was there war-broken soldier to stay ; - But sorrow return'd with the dawing of the moon, And the voice in my dreaming ear melted away"
