3x+4y=18.(i)

x-3y=-7

3(x-3y)=3(-7)

=>3x-9y=-21.(ii)

SUBTRACTING (2) FROM 1

WE GET

-13Y=-21-18

-13Y=-39

y=39/13=3

x=-7+3y using (i)

=-7+9

x=2
