3x + 2y = -1 ------2

multiply equation 2 by 2

6x + 4y =-2 ----- 3

Solving 1 and 3

6x + 4y = -2

2x + 4y = 2

x = - 4/4

x = -1

substitute the value of x = -1 in equation 1

2x + 4y = 2

-2 + 4y = 2

4y = 2+2

4y = 4

y = 4/4

y = 1
