\boxed {\underline  {\mathbb {QUESTION:-}}}

the solution of the pair of linear equation is x+y=13 , x-y=3 find the values of x and y

\boxed  {\underline  {\mathbb {FINAL\:ANSWER:-}}}

\boxed {x=8} and \boxed {y=5}

\boxed {\underline  {\mathbb {GIVEN:-}}}

\boxed {x+y=13..(1)}

And

\boxed{x-y=3..(2)}

\boxed {\underline  {\mathbb {TO\:FIND:-}}}

x and y

\boxed {\underline  {\mathbb {THINGS\:TO\:ASSUME:-}}}

Let x+y=13 as equation 1

And

x-y=3 as equation 2

\boxed {\underline  {\mathbb {METHOD\: USED:-}}}

Substitution method

\boxed {\underline  {\mathbb {SOLUTION:-}}}

So by using \boxed{x-y=3..(2)} let’s create eq3 by caring y to RHS

So 3rd equation will be\boxed{x=3+y..(3)}

Now substitute eq3 in eq1 we get-

x+y=13

(3+y)+y=13 [after putting eq3 in eq1]

3+y+y=13\\3+2y=13\\2y=13-3\\2y=10\\y=\frac{10}{2}\\\boxed {y=5}

As we got y value so let’s put it in eq3 to get x  value [Note-you can put value in or from any equation]

We get-

x=3+y\\x=3+5\\

\boxed {x=8}
