The sound of a thunder is heared a little later than the flash of light is seen. Why?

Light travels faster than sound.

Light 3×10^8 m/s. While sound

340m/s.

The speed of sound is 343m/s. On the other hand speed of light is 3×10⁸.
Due to the difference in speed , sound of thunder is heard a little later than the flash of light.
