The sound will have highest velocity in solids (metals) especially aluminium (6320m/s).

The intermolecular distance in solids are very small, i.e., solids are more dense as compared to liquids and gases. As they are so close, than can collide frquently, i.e. it takes less time for a molecule of the solid to bump into its neighborough. Molecules in solids are packed together tighter than liquids and gases and hence sound travels fastest in solids.
