Sound of Music relied on orchestral background and multiple solo opera parts. I slightly remember watching The Sound of Music years ago, and dreaded watching it again. Watching it this time was different as I remember. As I'm beginning to have a basic appreciation for music I really enjoyed it much more. When I really paid attention to the music and the words being sung it told the whole movie. I also think that the fullness of the music also depicts something as well.

In this song their was fullness in the music. She was singing along with seven kids. Five of which had the female parts and the male parts. This is when she began to realize where she belonged and her purpose for being there.
She was sent to live with the Captain where he didn't want music in his house. He was depressed and saddened with no music. When the music came out the first time you could tell from his reaction that it had sparked excitement and happiness in his life again. When he steps in and sings in the greeting song is when all the happiness really begins to come out. As stated before he added more fullness to the music, showing that everyone was even happier at this time. The next main song was when the children performed for his party guest. I believe this shows the happiness growing because of all the people involved in the music and at the end they all sang. This was a greatly happy time for everyone in the movie and is shown by the depth of the music. At last the most major song that was sung was when they preformed at the festival. This was a huge performance and was after they were married and everyone was the happiest they have been. The crowd began to sing and cheer and they were performing. When the crowd comes in the sing it is the fullest music in the whole movie again showing they were the happiest at that moment.
