Answer:

With water scarcity becoming a growing issue all over the world, Industries are looking for alternative solutions. Turning sewage into recyclable water will contribute positively towards this issue. Many state governments are encouraging Industrial Development Corporation zones to use treated sewage water.

ROCHEM, with its vast experience and deep knowledge of water and wastewater treatment, offers cost effective, innovative technologies to treat and recycle sewage.

Case Study:

Challenge:

One of the leading industry in India was forced to limit their manufacturing activities due to acute water shortage.

Solution:

We proposed the solution to extract reusable process quality water directly from Sewage. Our state of the technologies could be employed directly on raw sewage (with minimal pre-treatment) bypassing conventional set up which indirectly reduced commercials and overall foot prints.

Effluent characteristics were as follows:

Source: Raw Sewage

Inlet To ROCHEM system Treated Water

pH – 6.5 – 9.0 pH – 6.5 – 7.0

TDS – 700 ppm TDS < 50 ppm

COD – 400 ppm COD < 30 ppm

Treatment Scheme offered:

Sewage

Overall recovery: 80 - 85%

Permeate

Benefits:

⬤Present day Rochem solutions produce recyclable water which is used as Soft water wherever applicable for Process, and Cooling Tower Make up etc.

⬤Technology could be implemented without much efforts being taken for civil and other activities as in conventional treatment set up, resulting in further operational savings.

⬤Water availability helped customer to support production activities for extended period
