Let the CP be x.
Then SP here would be 3/4 x.
Loss = CP- SP
Loss =x - 3/4x
So, let x be 1 then,
Loss=1- 3/4
Loss=0.25
As we have to find the percentage so we multiply the loss with 100;
Loss %=25%

Given:

The SP of an article is three-fourths of its CP.

To find:

We have to find the loss percentage.

Solution:

Let the cost price of the article be x.

SP of an article is three-fourths of its CP.

So, the SP of the article is 3x/4.

The loss percentage will be-

  \frac{x -  \frac{3x}{4}}{x}  \times 100 \\  \frac{x}{4x}  \times 100 \\ 25\%

The loss percentage on the article is 25%.
