The speaker's ideas are progressive .

We say that the speaker's ideas are progressive because he had a positive attitude towards everything . His positivivity , enthusiasm and optimism could be seen , in times when he went to build the wall between his house and his neighbour's house even when he knew that the wall was eventually going to break . He did this just because he believed that setting boundaries between two people is always neccessary for the sake of a good friendship or relationship . Hence we can say that the speaker's ideas are progressive due to his never ending faith and optimism and his integrity in following his beliefs .
