In biology, the active site is the region of an enzyme where substrate molecules bind and undergo a chemical reaction. The active site consists of residues that form temporary bonds with the substrate (binding site) and residues that catalyse a reaction of that substrate (catalytic site).

The special groups at the active sites of the enzymes are substrate molecule bind.

The active site is one of the parts of an Enzyme in which a substrate bind and catalysis the reaction. The active sites in an enzyme always have residues that form temporary bond with the substrate molecule and boost up the chemical reaction.
