the speed of a boat is still water is 5km/h. It goes 15km downstream in 2hours. What is the speed of the stream ? (1) 2.5km/h (2) 2km/h (3) 1.5 km/h (4) 3km/h

Speed of downstream = 35 / 7 = 5km / hr. ∴ Speed of man in still water = (4 + 5) / 2 = 4.5 km / hr. 12 km upstream in 48 min. ⇒ it will cover 15 km in 1 hr.
