Increase in Speed is (Final - Initial) Speed

Explanation:

Initial Speed of Body, u = 20\ kmhr^-^1

Final Speed of Body,v = 50\ kmhr^-^1

So,

Increase in Speed = Final Speed - Initial Speed

                              = (50 - 20)\ kmhr^-^1

                              = 30\ kmhr^-^1

now, Increase in speed in \frac {meter}{second} = 30 \times \frac {5}{18}

                                                                               = \frac {150}{18}

                                                                               = 8.33 ms^-^1
