Step-by-step explanation:

Let the speed of stream be X,

and the speed of boat be y.

So ,

according to the question

x+y=50.4

x-y=23.3

from both the equation we get

x-y=23.3

x=23.3+y

putting value of x

x+y=50.4

23.3+y+y=50.4

23.3+2y=50.4

2y=50.4-23.3

2y=27.1

y=27.1/2

y=13.55

therefore the value of y = speed of boat in still water is 13.55km/hr

and speed of stream is y+23.3

23.3+13.55

23.3+13.5

36.8

x=36.8 km/hr
