In the above Question, the following information is given -

The speed of a stream is 5kmph .

The speed of the boat is 18 kmph in still water .

To find -

Find the speed of the boat in the river .

Solution-

When the boat is moving upstream -

Required Speed -

=> Speed Of Boat in still water - Speed of stream

=> 18 kmph - 5 kmph .

=> 13 kmph .

When the boat is moving downstream -

Required Speed -

=> Speed Of Boat in still water + Speed of stream

=> 18 kmph + 5 kmph .

=> 23 kmph .

This is the required answer.
