Speed = 62km/hr

Distance = 558km

Time = time

Speed = Distance/Time

Time = Distance/Speed = 558/62 = 9hr (Answer)

To find : time taken by train to cover distance of 558 km.

Given : speed of train = 62 km/hr

            distance covered = 558 km

Solution :

  • Let time taken be x
  • To find the time taken by train to cover distance of 558 km at speed of  62 km/hr .We have formula :

                  speed =\frac{distance }{time}

  • Substituting  the value in above formula we find time taken

             62km/hr = \frac{558km}{x}

                         x = \frac{558km/hr}{62km}

                          x = 9 hr

Hence , time taken by train to cover distance of  558 km is 9 hr.
