Explanation:

first we convert 18km/h to SI unit

18 x 1000 / 60x60 m/s

= 18 x 5/18

= 5 m/s

and given mass = 500 kg

therefore, kinetic energy = 1/2 mv^2

= 1/2 x 500 x 5 x 5

= 6250 kg m/s^2

Given :

  • Mass = 500Kg = m

  • Velocity = 18 km/hr = v

To convert km/hr → m/s ..the velocity is to be multiplied by 5/18

 \mathsf{18 \times  \frac{5}{18} } \\  \\   \boxed{\mathsf{5  m {s}^{ - 1}  }}

To find :

Kinetic Energy of the vehicle

Solution :

Application Used:

  •  \mathsf{E _{k}  =  \frac{1}{2} m {v}}^{2}  \\  \\  \\  \mathbb{SOLUTION} \\  \\   \mathsf{E_{k} =  \frac{500 \times 5 \times 5}{2}}  \\  \\     \boxed{\mathsf{ E _{k} =6250}}

I hope it helps.
