Answer:

the speed of blood in arteries is 0.04 metre per second that is blood travels 0.04 metre in one second.

the arteries are cylindrical in shape therefore 0.04 metre can be considered as the height.

0.04 metre = 4 cm

volume of 1 artery = π r^2 h

= 22/7 x 0.35 x 0.35 x 4

= 154 cm^3

the arteries is divided into 50 capillaries therefore 154cm^3 is divided into 50

therefore volume of 1 capillary = 154/50

=3.08 cm^3

volume of 1 capillary = π r^2 h

3.08 = 22/7 x 0.1 x 0.1 x h

3.08x7x100/22 = h

h= 98 cm

98 cm = 0.98m

that is blood travels 0.98 m in one second.

therefore speed of blood in one capillary = 0.98 metre per second.
