in a whirl wind the air from nearby region gets concentrated in a small space thereby decreasing the value of moment of inertia considerably. since, constant decrease in moment of inertia the angular speed become quite high.

The speed of inner layers of whirlwind in a tornado is alarmingly high because in a whirlwind the air from the surrounding areas are concentrated in a specific area increasing the speed of the winds.

• In reference to the conservation of angular momentum, the inner layers of the whirlwind or tornado have the highest wind speeds.

• In the inner layers of a whirlwind or tornado, moment of inertia of rotating air decreases and thus angular velocity increases that makes it extremely dangerous
