The speed of light in vacuum is 3 \times 10^8\ m/s

Solution:

The refractive index is given by formula:

n = \frac{c}{v}

Where,

n = refractive index

c = Speed of light in vacuum

v = Speed of light in medium

From given,

n = 1.5 \\\\v = 2 \times 10^8

Substituting we get,

1.5 = \frac{c}{2 \times 10^8} \\\\c = 1.5 \times 2 \times 10^8\\\\c=3 \times 10^8

Thus speed of light in vacuum is 3 \times 10^8\ m/s
