the speed of light in a transparent medium is 2.44into 10 to the power 8 m/s.find the refractive index of the medium.........please help me guys...​

We Know that refractive index

 =  \frac{velocity\: of \: light \: in \: vaccum}{velocity \: of \: light \: in \: specified \: medium}  \\  \\  =  \frac{ v_{v}}{ v_{m}  }  \\  \\ in \: this \: case \\  \\  v_{v} = 3 \times  {10}^{8} (velocity \: of \: light) \\  \\  v_{m} = 2.44 \times  {10 }^{8} (given)

So refractive Index =

 \frac{3 \times  {10}^{8} }{ {2.44 \times10 }^{8} }  \\  \\  =  \frac{3}{2.44}  \\  \\  = 1.22

So, the refractive index is 1.22
