The speed of sound in air is 332m/s if the volume of nitrogen (moleculer wt.28)and oxygen (mol. Wt. 32)in air in ratio 4:1 then find out the speed of sound in oxygen

Hey mate,

Correct answer:
315 m/s

So,

Molecular weight = 4×32+1×28/5

= 28.8

We know,

V1/V2 = Root (M2/M1)

332/V2 = Root(32/28.8)

From here,

V2 = 315m/s
