Total distance travelled in 12 hours =(35+37+39+.....upto 12 terms)

This is an A.P with first term, a=35, number of terms,

n= 12,d=2.

Required distance = 12/2[2 x 35+{12-1) x 2]

=6(70+23)

= 552 kms.

Answer:

The total distance traveled in 12 hours is 552 \ km.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given that the speed of the bus increases by 2 \ km after every hour.

The distance traveled in the first hour was 35 \ km.

We will find the total distance traveled in 12 hours by using the method of A.P.

Total distance covered in 12 hours = 35+ 37+39+.....upto \ 12 \ terms

The first term in this A.P., a = 35

Total number of terms n = 12

Hence, distance traveled in 12 hours = \frac{n}{2}[ 2a + (n-1)d]

Substituting values in the above equation we get,

= \frac{12}{2} [2 \times 35 +(12-1) \times 2\\= 552 \ km

Therefore, the total distance covered in 12 hours is 552 km.
