The speed of the inner layers of the whirl wind in a tornado is alarmingly high explain why?

In a whirl wind, the air from nearby region gets concentrated in a small space thereby decreasing the value of moment of inertia considerably. Since, Iω= constant, due to decrease in moment of inertia, the angular speed becomes quite high.
