Given :

Speed of train going from Nagpur to Allahabad is  , u = 100 km/h .

Speed of train while coming back from Allahabad to Nagpur is , v = 150 km/h .

To Find :

The average velocity of the whole journey .

Solution :

We know , average of two quantity x and y is given by :

Avg =\dfrac{x+y}{2}

Therefore , average velocity of the journey is :

v_{avg}=\dfrac{u+v}{2}\\\\v_{avg}=\dfrac{100+150}{2}\\\\v_{avg}=\dfrac{250}{2}\\\\v_{avg}=125\ m/s

Therefore , average velocity of the journey is 125 m/s .
