GIVEN :-

  • Speed of Train is 140 km/hour.
  • Speed of Train is Increased by 12.5 %

TO FIND :-

  • New speed of Train.

SOLUTION :-

▪︎New speed Of Train = 140 + (12.5 % 0f 140)

= 140 + ( 12.5/100×140)

= 140 + ( 12.5/5 × 7)

= 140 + 17.5

= 157.5 km /hour

Hence New Speed of Train is 157.5 km /hour.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION :-

▪︎Speed = Distance/ Time

▪︎Time = Distance/speed

▪︎Distance = speed × Time

GIVEN :-

• The speed of the train is 140 km/hr.

• And speed of train is increased by 12.5% .

TO FIND :-

• The new speed of train.

SOLUTION :-

As we know that,

• The new speed of train = speed of train + ( 12.5% of speed of train)

=> The new speed of train = 140 + (12.5 % 140)

=> The new speed of train = 140 + 17.5

=> The new speed of train = 157.5 km/hr.

Thus, the new speed of train is 157.5 km/hr.

•The formula for Speed Distance Time is mathematically given as :

Speed = Distance/Time

Where,

x = Speed in m/s,

d = Distance travelled in m,

t= time taken in s.

Distance travelled formula,

d = x t

For Example ,

Q. Lilly is driving a scooter with a speed of 6 km/hr for 2hr. Calculate the distance travelled by her?

Solution :-

Given:

•Speed of the scooter x = 6km/hr

•Time taken, t = 2 hr

•Distance travelled d = ?

•Speed distance time formula is given as

d = x t

=>Distance travelled = d = x × t

=>Distance travelled = 6 km/hr × 2 hr

Distance travelled = 12 km.
