Given,
Speed = 50m/s
Let the time taken be (x)s
Distance = (y) m

Distance = speed × time
x = 50y
=>x-50y=0.

Given :

The speed of the train is 50m/s

To find :

find the expression for the time taken by the train to cover y meters.

Solution:

Speed of train = 50 m /s

Distance covered by train = y meters

Let the time be t seconds

Time = \frac{Distance}{Speed}

t = \frac{y}{50}

Hence  the expression for the time taken by the train to cover y meters is t = \frac{y}{50}
