The speed of transverse waves on a vibrating string is 50 m/s. If the length of the tring is 0.25 m, what is the frequency of the first overtone?

Answer:

solution : frequency of First overtone is equal to frequency of second harmonic. where V is speed of transverse wave and L is length of string. so, f = 3 × 50/4 × 0.25 = 150 Hz.
