Answer:

36 m

Explanation:

the speed time graph of a particle moving along a fixed direction is shown in the figure the distance travelled by the particle between t is equal to 2 second and t is equal to 6 second is

as per graph

acceleration from 0 to 5 sec is same

a = (12 -0)/(5-0) = 2.4 m/s²

V at 2 sec = 0 + 2.4*2 = 4.8 m/s²

V at 5 sec =  12 m/s²

Using V² - U² = 2aS

Distance covered from 2 to 5 sec =  (12² - (4.8)²)/(2*2.4)

= 30 - 4.8

= 25.2 m

acceleration from 5 to 10 sec

= (0 -12)/(10 - 5) = -2.4 m/s²

Velocity at 6 sec = 12 -2.4*(6-5) = 9.6 m/s

Distance covered from 5 to 6 sec =  (9.6² - 12²)/(2*(-2.4))

= -19.2 +30

= 10.8 m

Total distance from 2 to 6 sec

= 25.2 + 10.8

= 36 m
