Spindle fibre starts appearing in - Prophase.

Prophase is the first phase of cell division. This stage is marked by disappearance of nucleolus, condensations of chromosomes and formation of spindle fibres from centrosomes.

The spindle fibres form from one end to another end and perform the function of seperating chromatids. The seperation takes place in anaphase.

Cell division is of two types - mitotic and meiotic. Mitotic is equational division taking place in somatic cells while meiotic is reductional division taking place in gametes.
