Answer:

There are two plate pairs in CRO one horizontal and other vertical. A linear saw tooth type deflection voltage is applied to the horizontal plate. This saw tooth voltage sweep the electron beam in horizontal direction. The signal to be observed is applied along vertical plates. Now if the horizontal deflection voltage is not applied to the horizontal plate. There will be no deflection of electron beam in horizontal direction. Since AC voltage is applied to the vertical plate, the electron beam will experience force in vertical direction , it will trace a path in vertical direction thus a vertical line will be observed on the CRO screen.

Answer: 7.8624

Explanation:For 10V dc(peak value) , the displacement is 4cm.

The peak value of 7V ac will be =

7×1.414= 9.828V

Hence, displacement= 9.828×4÷10= 39.312÷10=3.9321cm

peak to peak (maximum) displacement

=2×3.9312= 7.8624cm
