Let the number be x
x^2-22x=48
x^2-22x-48=0
x^2-24x+2x-48=0. (Factorisation)
x(x-24)+2(x-24)=0
(x+2)(x-24)=0
Therefore, x=-2 or x=24
As x can't be negative,the number is 24
x^2-22x=48
x^2-22x-48=0
x^2-24x+2x-48=0. (Factorisation)
x(x-24)+2(x-24)=0
(x+2)(x-24)=0
Therefore, x=-2 or x=24
As x can't be negative,the number is 24
