∵ Perimeter of the square = 4 × its side

∴ 4 × side of square = 360 m

⇒ side of the square = 360m/4 = 90 m

(i) The area of the square field = (side)²

= (90 m)²

= 90 m × 90 m

= 8100 m²

Cost of fencing at Rs. 40 per metre

= 8100 m2 × Rs. 40 per metre

= Rs. 324000

Cost of levelling at Rs. 60 per m²

= 8100 m² × Rs. 60 per m²

= Rs. 486000
